Cobra Cashier™

A key tool for eliminating labor and increasing revenue from commissary and receivables, Swanson’s Cobra Cashier™ works with Cobra Banker® to receive and process money deposits from resident families and friends using cash, credit cards or debit cards.

Deposits made at a Cobra Cashier™ post directly to your residents’ accounts, eliminating the time your staff would normally spend at a service window processing manual payments. So you can reallocate resources where you need them most.

The idea: increase resident spending power

Since deposits post to resident accounts in real time, funds are readily available for commissary purchases and receivables payments. All deposits are guaranteed by Swanson Services Corporation®. Moreover, when visitors can make self-serve deposits whenever your lobby is open, resident balances typically increase—along with their spending power.

Fully integrated with Cobra Cashier™, your Cobra Banker® software creates daily, weekly and monthly reports detailing the deposit activity at each Cobra Cashier™ location. It also reconciles deposits and ACH (automated clearing house) transfers automatically.

Our booking version of Cobra Cashier™ reduces liability and increases intake efficiency

Our booking area version of Cobra Cashier™ automates much of the intake process by accepting no-fee cash and coin deposits that post through Cobra Banker® directly to the inmates’ new or existing trust fund account. Also ideal for bail deposits and conveying important facility information to new inmates, the inherent accuracy of automation reduces liability—and the accuracy of the transaction is documented with a printed receipt.

Cobra Everywhere Funding™ (CEF)

Easy, remote deposits keep resident accounts in the money—from virtually anywhere!

Cobra Everywhere Funding™ encourages more frequent deposits to resident accounts because family and friends can simply dial a toll-free phone number, use the internet to transfer cash with a credit or debit card, or use a Cobra Cashier™ lobby kiosk at another facility. They can also make depositis at hundreds of convenient Swanson financial partner locations across the county.

CEF deposits are guaranteed, post to resident accounts in real time, and are fully integrated with your Cobra Banker® resident banking system. CEF’s multiple remote deposit options not only increases your residents’ purchasing power and commissary revenue, they also eliminate the labor and materials costs of manually receiving and accounting for deposits.

Automation and ACH-compliance make AutoCash easy for auditors

Every CEF deposit is recorded automatically to your Cobra Banker® checkbook, and the program’s automated ACH reporting function verifies that deposit amounts are accurate and ACH-compliant—so the entire process is audit-ready. Additionally, CEF is 100% funded by depositor-paid fees, so there is no cost to you.

Cobra AutoCollect™

Collect more debt from released residents

When you find yourself writing off thousands of dollars in “uncollectible” debt because it’s just too difficult to locate and bring in, Cobra AutoCollect™ will prove to be a valuable addition to your operational arsenal. This powerful Cobra Banker® module auto-transfers receivables data through Swanson to our debt collection partner—trained collection professionals who will vigorously pursue and collect the money that ex-residents owe your facility.

AutoCollect is contingency-fee based, so there are no upfront costs. You receive a monthly check for 50% of the debt that is collected, plus monthly reports that detail the information behind the collections effort, including the debt that is still being pursued, and the debt that is scheduled to be retired. Debts are typically retired after six months.

Cobra TeleLink™

Eliminates the hassles of inmate calling cards

Cobra TeleLink™ enables inmates to purchase telephone time directly through Cobra Banker® software without calling cards. They simply transfer money to their phone account using the commissary ordering feature from the touchscreen on their pod’s Cobra Kiosk™ or through their commissary order.

TeleLink eliminates calling cards, which can be stolen, gambled or bartered by your residents. Moreover, it frees up facility space and staff time otherwise devoted to storing, processing and managing an inventory of phone cards.

Since friends and family typically increase deposits to inmate accounts to cover the cost of phone calls, TeleLink boosts revenue to your facility and grows profitability. As with all Cobra Banker® integrated solutions, you’re in full control of how TeleLink is used by your inmates, including the amount of funds that are available for transfer to their phone accounts.

Cobra eNotez™

An e-mail system to grow revenue and reduce costs

Balancing inmate rights with security, compliance, staff safety, cost and efficiency makes inmate mail one of the most challenging issues facing many correctional facilities today.

Cobra eNotez™ inmate e-mail from Swanson Services Corporation® will substantially reduce the cost, aggravation and hazards associated with a traditional mail program—and has the ability to add precious dollars to your stretched budget.

Security, first and foremost

When an inmate requests Cobra eNotez™ e-mail service using the touch-screen of an in-pod Cobra Kiosk™, the system is available only if the recipient’s name and e-mail address are located in a database of approved recipients. You have the ability to control to whom e-mails can be sent.

When the Cobra eNotez™ system approves the recipient, the inmate can send a single, limited-length, text-only message. In turn, Cobra eNotez™ permits just a single reply from the recipient. No attachments are allowed in either inbound our outbound e-mails. The system also blocks delivery and notifies your administrator when restricted words are contained in the messages. Additionally, you can control the maximum number of e-mails each inmate can send and receive.
